I could also have written: Juicy Words are memorable words. One version moves people. The other gets skimmed.

Here is why it matters. An ordinary adjective delivers information. A juicy word delivers a feeling, and feeling is what people act on. You say rock solid and they picture the stone. You say feather light and they see it lift. That picture is the difference between a message that lands and one that leaks.

You can use them anywhere you want to give your message real weight. Not “that was a very big mistake,” but a crashing mistake. Same fact, very different impact.

The discipline is in the dose. A juicy word works only when plain words carry the rest of the load. Overload the sentence and every word competes, so none of them wins. My advice: Use them sparingly.

Try it on your next message. Cut the weakest adjective and replace it with one people can feel. That is where the message starts working.

Warm regards, Ralph

On August 4th at 5:11 pm, I tripped over an old course summary from 2018.
